About the Event
Space is limited - reserve your spot!
PREREQ: Participants must have previously attended one of our past self-administration workshop or be able to demonstrate extensive experience of personal use and relationship with Hapé. To uphold integrity and ethics within the facilitation of sacred medicines, this workshop is only available through an application process. If you feel you meet the prereqs, please send us an email at hello@churchgaia.org to request registration for the workshop.
If you are feeling ready to take your practice with this sacred medicine into the world, this workshop serves as a step forward. Learn the art of Hapé facilitation and holding space for others through ritual. This workshop pairs education with hands on practice, guided by two experienced facilitators to provide feedback and mentorship.
In this class, we will cover:
the importance of right relationship with sacred medicines
contraindications of Hapé and when to be concerned
what to keep in your facilitation toolkit
determining dosage for others
how to use your breath to administer Hapé to others
preparing your ritual and intention/prayer
how to administer Hapé to others with a guided partner practice
tips for supporting others in their aftercare
You will receive a beautiful tepi to use at the workshop and take home as a start to your facilitation toolkit. Or bring your own for a discounted ticket price. Hapé will be provided for the guided practice. Please bring a water bottle. We recommend a gentle fasting period of 1-2 hours before using Hapé, although this is not required.
Although hapé is a sacred medicine, it is not appropriate for everyone. Caution and discernment should always be practiced.
Hapé should be avoided or used only under close guidance by those who:
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Have high blood pressure or heart conditions
Have a history of seizures or severe neurological disorders
Are prone to chronic nosebleeds, nasal injuries, or sinus infections
Have glaucoma (intraocular pressure may temporarily increase)
Are currently intoxicated or under the influence of other narcotics/substances
Are in a highly dissociative or unstable mental health state (it can be grounding, but it may also bring up strong emotions)
Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns about your ability to take part in this workshop.
Pricing starts at $30 with upgrade options depending on the tepi style you choose. The cost of the workshop covers supplies and includes a donation to the church as we continue to fundraise for upcoming needs. All payments will be non-refundable due to us purchasing supplies in advance and limiting space. If you end up not being able to make the event due to sickness, schedule conflicts, etc. we will save your tepi for you to pick up at a later time.
For ages 21+.
