JOIN US AT COUNCIL
Council is a sacred gathering of people, serving as our equivalent to a traditional church service, where we come together to honor the earth, reflect, and connect. Join us in circle, where we will offer guided meditation, music, teachings, and rituals. Together, we’ll explore values and belief systems rooted in various indigenous and spiritual traditions, offering guidance and wisdom for living in harmony with ourselves, each other, and the earth. All are welcome to participate in this inclusive space. Come as you are and leave grounded in the beauty and wisdom of Gaia.

STATEMENT OF BELIEFS
At the Church of Gaia, our faith is rooted in deep reverence for Mother Earth and the sacred plants she has gifted us. We recognize Gaia as a living, conscious being, and we honor all life upon her—humans, animals, birds, insects, plants, and all creatures alike—as sacred and interconnected. This Indigenous wisdom forms the foundation of our spiritual path, guiding our rituals, traditions, and way of life. We believe through the sacrament of Ayahuasca, we can transcend the physical world and enter into communion with the spirit of the Earth, our Creator, and the Divine guides and ancestors who walk with us in the unseen realms. This sacred work offers profound healing, wisdom, and transformation, allowing us to restore harmony within ourselves and with the world around us.

CORE VALUES
At the Church of Gaia, our core values are the foundation of how we live, learn, and grow together. Rooted in the wisdom of our ancestors and inspired by the rich diversity of life on Gaia, they reflect our deep respect for all life and our commitment to walking a path of integrity, reverence, and reciprocity. These values guide us in nurturing a community where every person is seen, supported, and encouraged to walk their own sacred journey with presence and purpose.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Many people have questions about our beliefs and practices, and how they differ from mainstream Western religions. While our earth-centered and shamanistic traditions may seem unfamiliar to some, they are among the most ancient spiritual practices in human history. Rooted in the wisdom of indigenous elders, these traditions have honored the sacred connection between humanity, nature, and the spirit realms for thousands of years. We believe in fostering open dialogue and leading with integrity, ensuring that our teachings are shared with clarity and respect. OUR TEAM
Our church team is a dedicated group of individuals who play vital roles in supporting our community. This includes our Ceremonial Leaders, who guide our sacred ceremonies and provide council for the church's mission and vision, facilitators who ensure safe and supportive ceremonies, an integration team that supports members through their unique journeys, and board members who help with oversight and accountability. When ceremonies are held, we will be accompanied by one or more of our Indigenous teachers and friends. It is an honor to share these spaces with them, and we acknowledge that this church simply wouldn't be here without their permission, generous wisdom, and belief that these spiritual and traditional practices should be shared with the world. Together, we are committed to offering a sacred space for spiritual healing, learning, and growth. If you feel called to walk this path with us and contribute to our growing community, we welcome you with open hearts. If you are interested in joining the team, please click here.

LEGAL INFORMATION
In a significant legal development in May 2025, the DEA granted the first-ever approval for a Petition for Religious Exemption from the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) Pursuant to the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) for the Church of Gaia. This exemption allows our church to legally use Ayahuasca in religious ceremonies, making it one of just several other legal Ayahuasca churches in the United States. We are committed to transparency and the safety of our members, and we recognize that misunderstandings about the legal status of Ayahuasca can create unnecessary harm and risks.
