WHO WE ARE

At the Church of Gaia, we envision a world where all things that reside upon Mother Earth live in harmony, while all walk in attunement with their spiritual path. Guided by integrity, we strive to lead by example, cultivating communities whose positive impact ripples out into the world.

Our mission is to provide spiritual growth and community through sacred and supportive Ayahuasca ceremonies. We achieve this through safe ceremonies guided by experienced Ceremonial Leaders and Indigenous people, as well as inclusive gatherings for integration, fostering relationships built on compassion, trust, honesty, and respect.

JOIN US AT COUNCIL

Council is a sacred gathering of people, serving as our equivalent to a traditional church service, where we come together to honor the earth, reflect, and connect. All are welcome to participate in this monthly service.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Many people have questions about our beliefs and practices, and how they differ from mainstream Western religions. While our earth-centered and shamanistic traditions may seem unfamiliar to some, they are among the most ancient spiritual practices in human history. Rooted in the wisdom of indigenous elders, these traditions have honored the sacred connection between humanity, nature, and the spirit realms for thousands of years. We believe in fostering open dialogue and leading with integrity, ensuring that our teachings are shared with clarity and respect. LEGAL INFORMATION

The Church of Gaia is not currently holding Ayahuasca ceremonies. In September 2022, we submitted a Petition for Religious Exemption from the Controlled Substances Act to the Drug Enforcement Administration. We are committed to transparency and the safety of our members, and we recognize that misunderstandings about the legal status of Ayahuasca can create unnecessary risks. We remain in ongoing communication with the DEA as we move through the exemption process and will continue to provide updates on our website as new information becomes available. It is our sincere hope that this process will be completed soon.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We respectfully acknowledge that we live, work, and gather on the traditional lands of the interior Salish tribes, specifically including the Spokane Tribe, the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, the Coeur d'Alene Tribe, the Kalispel Tribe of Indians, and the Kootenai Tribe of Idaho. These tribes have been the caretakers of these lands for thousands of years, in which we recognize their profound cultural, spiritual, and historical connection to place. We express our gratitude for the enduring presence and contributions of all Indigenous peoples to the cultural, ecological, and social fabric of this region which we benefit from today. We honor the wisdom and practices they continue to impart, which help guide others to the path of a more holistic way of being, and sustains the land and its ecosystems for future generations. With this acknowledgement, we are personally committed to supporting First Nations peoples in the following ways: (1) the recognition and fulfillment of the Tribes' treaty rights; (2) to be responsible stewards of the land both physically and spiritually, upholding sacred reciprocity with our non-human kin; and (3) to listening, learning, and engaging in efforts that promote reconciliation, healing, and respect for Native communities and organizations.

ELDER ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We are so thankful and abundantly fortunate to have forged such strong and beautiful relationships with our teachers. They have offered us the gift of knowledge that has been passed down through their family for generations. There are no words that we can use that express our gratitude and love for the ones who take the time to teach and guide us along the path of their ancestors. But may we offer this simple phrase: Kano bora akinra, meaning - these connections help me. We have many teachers and mentors who have made a difference in our life, but we'd like to offer special gratitude to Maestro Tito Amasifen Magin and Maestro Wetsako Teddy Romayna Rodríguez of the Shipibo-Konibo community of Peru. We also express many thanks to our plant and animal teachers and allies, as well as our spiritual guides and ancestors. May we continue to walk as humble students of this path.
